Currently there are six existing little league fields. By reducing the number of fields to four, and providing much needed safety enhancements and improvements, we can create a safe environment and foster community pride in our long standing West Haven Little League program run by dedicated volunteers
Install a Nature inspired playscape that flows with holistic natural educational theme of the area
Let's work with local NGO organizations to program this newly imagined placemaking with much needed education on coastal resilience, ecological impacts, climate change, environmental impacts

Due to the nature of the park's flood plane designation, there are limited structures that can be contemplated. This provides an opportunity for a covered pavilion which would feature educational displays highlighting environmental and coastal resiliency

Increase access to nature with ADA compliant ramps that run adjacent to Old Field Creek and create an additional observation deck for the Eagle's Nests. This would serve to enhance connect Morse Park and Old Field Creek to the already well known Bird Sanctuary which attracts Birders from all over the country
Public art with a theme of environmental awareness serves to enhance and encourage community gathering in open spaces

Allow the permeable surface parking lot to act as a pilot program for a comprehensive West Haven Parking APP which would replace broken kiosks and costly monitors
An announcement was made on July 20th by the City of West Haven inviting proposals for improvement to Parks and open spaces. That's when the spark began. A mission for a better Morse Park. We got as much community feedback in the 4 week short timeframe that we could. We submitted the following proposal and requested funds for Phase I.
Enable Connecticut to emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic stronger, healthier, and ready to resume the progress that has made the state a leader in many areas, and a desirable place to live.
